Nearly 10" of snow (photo by Marcy Cunkelman)
It feels like it’s been snowing forever.

Marcy Cunkelman sent me this picture taken in her yard on Wednesday at a moment when – miraculously – it was not snowing.  Last night as she sent me email it was snowing heavily in the dark.

The ruler is buried by now.  Good thing it’s bright orange.

Yes it’s covered with 5+inches…and it’s still coming down…I think we can all use a break, esp the workers, and all the people shoveling…Sunshine sure would help brighten the spirits too…

Funny thing about this weather, the winters used to be like this when I was growing up in the 60-70s…Minus 25 and 30 were not unheard of, but snowdays were not very often like they are now…rode the bus for 12 years, with drifts sometimes higher than the top of the bus in the drifted areas…times sure have changed..

my friend Carlo Montgomery, who lives in St. Paul MN, had this to say about our ruler:
“Okay, I will go take my 4 foot stick out and measure the snow for you tomorrow.” She wasn’t impressed with our 8 inches !!
