On TV, June 5

By next Sunday the young peregrines at the Cathedral of Learning will be completely off camera (they’re leaving the nest) but I’ll be on camera on WQED-TV.

On June 5 from 8:00-9:30pm WQED will rebroadcast the popular PBS Nature show Hummingbirds: Magic in the Air

We’ve reserved 90 minutes for this one-hour show because it’s a fundraiser.  During the pledge breaks our hosts will ask you to pledge to support our broadcasts of PBS Nature.  (These great PBS shows are really expensive!)  They’ll also be interviewing me as their special guest on the subject of birds.

This is live TV so I can’t even predict what I’ll say!  I can already tell you I’m no hummingbird expert but I’m absolutely sure that the subject of peregrines will come up.

So tune in to WQED on Sunday June 5 at 8:00pm to see me on air.

Will I wear my birding hat?  And what will I say?  It ought to be interesting.  🙂

  1. So looking forward to it. Can’t get to fledge watch this year but my heart will be there. Such good work you are involved with and I appreciate it more than anyone would possiblly know. The earth is such a blessed place and we must constantly be aware of the stewardship of responsibility towards all beings that we share it with. In such small ways such as the Peregrine project is so important in the grand scheme of things. Always a watcher of the bird watcher. Faith Cornell.

  2. It’s so nice to see your face after having E-mailed you from time to time and you have E-mailed me. I’m just glad you are there. Sometimes when I have a good sighting, I just have to tell someone and you are my person of choice for that. Thanks for being there.

  3. I hope to be at the Fledge watch on Thursday. Do you know what’s the mater with the camera at Gulf Tower? The still picture is from yesterday and you can not get a live stream.

  4. The network connection from the Gulfcam to the Internet went dead at 10:09am on Monday (Memorial Day). The camera is alive but cannot talk to the world. They are tracing the problem. 🙁
