Not only is there a Partridge – there’s also a bird called a “Ptarmigan.” And when I was a little girl, I misread the word as “Partridge-Man.”
So for the longest time, I thought the Ptarmigan was the name for the male Partridge (i.e., the Partridge-MAN!) Is that photo a Partridge-Man or a Partridge-Woman? 😉
