Fringed Polygala

Here’s another beauty blooming now in western Pennsylvania.

Fringed polygala is only 3 to 6 inches tall so you’ll have to look closely to find it.

Dianne Machesney saw this one along the Butler Freeport Trail near Monroe Road. Today I’m going to go see it.

  1. When I saw the pic my reaction was “I’ve seen those at Todd!” Very close to the Butler Freeport Trail 🙂 Must be local to that area. Have a great day, Kate.

  2. Alas, the polygala was past its peak today so it wasn’t particularly interesting. However, the birds were good. Saw an Indigo Bunting in good light — something I’ve been waiting for this spring.
