Second Peregrine Egg at Pitt

Hope with two eggs, 14 March 2019, 2:42a

Thursday morning, 14 March 2019 at 2:30am, the female peregrine at the Cathedral of Learning laid her second egg.

The snapshot below shows Hope just after she laid the egg, holding her feathers away to allow it to dry.

p.s. Thank you to Luann Walz for alerting me to this event.

  1. I apologize if this has already been address but has the camera been removed from the Gulf Tower and are Louie and Dori still in the area?

    1. Sheryl, the Gulf nest was removed in advance of roof work that would have disturbed the peregrines. The Gulf camera is not operational. The peregrines are focusing their attention on nesting in last year’s location. I will have photos and news soon.

  2. It is great to know Hope laid her 2ndegg. Let’s all pray she does not do as before.. it will be great to keep an eye on the family..
