After the third egg hatched yesterday morning Pitt’s peregrine family expanded to five: Carla, Ecco and three chicks.
In this one minute video, Ecco is sheltering the chicks at 11:38am after Carla took away the leftovers from their recent feeding. Ecco leaves when Carla returns.
Two hours later it’s time for another feeding that lasts more than a quarter hour. Here are the first 6 minutes.

They brought a beautiful red bird this morning for feeding time, around 9:30. Do you know what it was? I don’t think it was a cardinal, but I could definitely be wrong. Was enjoying sitting out on the Cathedral lawn and seeing them swoop every once in a while yesterday!
Alas! It was a beautiful male scarlet tanager that probably arrived just last night on migration.
Saw a pip in last egg at 1:05.
So how do you think the third one is doing? I was watching a feeding going on right now. Thanks
In my opinion, the third one does not appear to be thriving.
What do we think the chances are the 4th will hatch still?
Chances of the 4th egg hatching are very low.
How does the third hatchling seem to be doing? It hard to see when they are being fed.
Luann, I agree that it is hard to see during feedings so I can’t answer your question. I assume ok.
