After the third egg hatched yesterday morning Pitt’s peregrine family expanded to five: Carla, Ecco and three chicks.

In this one minute video, Ecco is sheltering the chicks at 11:38am after Carla took away the leftovers from their recent feeding. Ecco leaves when Carla returns.

Two hours later it’s time for another feeding that lasts more than a quarter hour. Here are the first 6 minutes.

  1. They brought a beautiful red bird this morning for feeding time, around 9:30. Do you know what it was? I don’t think it was a cardinal, but I could definitely be wrong. Was enjoying sitting out on the Cathedral lawn and seeing them swoop every once in a while yesterday!

    1. Alas! It was a beautiful male scarlet tanager that probably arrived just last night on migration.

    1. Luann, I agree that it is hard to see during feedings so I can’t answer your question. I assume ok.
